Overview

Treatment selected for the source, demand and end use.

Water sources vary over time. A sound treatment strategy begins with representative data, a defined end use and a clear understanding of how the plant will be operated.

Viraya supports potable and process-water projects from demand assessment and feasibility through process engineering, multidisciplinary design, procurement support, construction coordination and commissioning planning. Treatment options are compared against source quality, capacity, footprint, energy, chemicals, operator capability, risk and whole-life value.

The final train may combine clarification, filtration, adsorption, membranes, reverse osmosis and disinfection where justified by the source and required output. Performance criteria, treatment barriers and monitoring requirements are established for the specific project and applicable standards.

Core capabilities

Engineering across the complete water-treatment train.

01

Demand & source assessment

Establish average and peak demand, source characteristics, seasonal variability and required treated-water quality.

02

Feasibility & process selection

Compare suitable treatment trains against performance, footprint, energy, chemicals, risk and lifecycle priorities.

03

Conventional treatment

Develop coagulation, flocculation, clarification, filtration and disinfection processes where appropriate.

04

Membranes & reverse osmosis

Evaluate membrane-based solutions for challenging sources and demanding potable or process-water requirements.

05

Plant systems & residuals

Coordinate pumping, chemicals, storage, hydraulics, backwash, residuals handling, utilities and safe operator access.

06

Controls & commissioning

Define instrumentation, monitoring, process control, testing and startup requirements for the agreed plant.

Water applications

Quality and capacity designed around the end use.

Source-water data and output requirements determine the appropriate combination of treatment barriers, controls and operational safeguards.

01

Potable-water systems

Treatment engineering for communities, developments, institutions and public supply networks.

02

Industrial process water

Treatment tailored to defined manufacturing, cooling, boiler, washing and production-water requirements.

03

Membrane & RO systems

Advanced removal of dissolved salts and selected contaminants where the source and end use require it.

04

Decentralised systems

Compact, maintainable solutions for remote sites, facilities and phased developments.

Our approach

Evidence-led process selection, designed for operation.

We connect representative water-quality data, demand, applicable standards, process performance and operator needs before defining a solution.

01
Characterise

Understand water and demand

Review source quality, variability, required output, capacity, site and operating constraints.

02
Evaluate

Compare treatment options

Assess process alternatives against performance, risk, footprint, cost drivers and maintainability.

03
Design

Coordinate the complete plant

Integrate process, hydraulic, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, control and building requirements.

04
Deliver

Support startup and handover

Support procurement reviews, construction coordination, commissioning planning, testing and operational readiness.
